Gyokuro is the finest grade of Japanese green tea.
About 20 days before tea picking, shading young tea leaves to block from direct the sunlight after young tea leaves comes out to start.
By blocking the sunlight, It's rich in amino acids which call UMAM of major constituents in tea and the Theanine which is the origin of astringency is reduced,so that The rich fragrance and mild sweetness make it an elegant taste unique to gyokuro.
